Happy Birthday, Elena!
[Jeremy has a tendency to kind of go on the down low with things, okay? but he knows his sister's birthday, because she's his sister so he's been working at her present for some time. for a christmas, he gave her a drawing of their house back in mystic falls, but this time he wanted to go along the same line of thinking, but instead of their house, he's going to draw her their lake house from a distance so it includes the lake and the docks on it.
there's also two tiny figures at the end of the dock where elena's father taught her how to fish, and it's who is there. elena at a tiny age with her father over top of her with the fishing pole in hand, dangling out a fish on top of it. even though they likely barely caught anything.
it's the same lake house where he broke his arm at the age of six. and he also drew tiny him in there along with their mother back closer to the house, watching from a distance, but it's all there in jeremy's own style which is harsh, dark lines all over, but there's something light and loving in this. because it is their family, the parents they lost, but they still are family, jeremy and elena even without their parents. that doesn't change, and the details of the whole world have been drawn in so it would be exactly as they remembered it.
on top of the picture that he drew, there's the words Happy Birthday over top of the drawing.
and on a sillier note, he got a little teddy bear tux top for her so Mr. Teddy could dress up sometimes. he leaves both of these on her pillow while she's off doing her morning jog which he's sure she won't not do even on her birthday. rjel;k.]

Summary: Set during 3x22. Partly based speculation, but I am 95% sure that Jeremy texted Evil!Ric w/ the actual details and that's how he knew where to go even if the show was really fail at showing it, but the synopsis said Jeremy'd make a choice that changes everything/has heartbreaking consequences and... that's the only way that'd make sense. I reject this episode and the rest of TVD at this point. Just wanted to deal with some feels.

Meredith is in with Alaric and Damon is there too while they help him be... as comfortable s he can be. Elena's waiting there too. Everyone else has already gone, but Jeremy is sitting on the ground with his head lowered and jaw locked. He can't bring himself to move, to abandon Alaric, to leave him alone to die after everything he's done for them. He can't leave with how Alaric looked out for him when Jeremy was nothing but a punk kid with a folder stuffed heavily with all the reasons why no one should waste any time on him.
There is no way he could drag himself up from the ground at the moment.
His jaw is locked tightly. Tears are burning in his eyes as he stares daggers at the ground like it's fate, like it's the reason this is all happening. There's never any reason. There's never any stopping it, but there's always Elena looking more guilty than Jeremy can take and the two of them left with no one.

The crossbow is sitting next to him, and he swallows past the tightness in his throat, the pain that threatens to swallow him. He can't afford to. No one takes him seriously as it is. It's not the time to feel any of this, but he can't get it out of his head. Ric's dying. Jenna died. Uncle John died. Their parents are dead, and now they're here. They still have each other.

I have a stalker. She has been following me around all day taking pictures of me. Apparently, she's a supernatural of some kind. I have no idea what she can do.
I don't think that she knows who I am? But this is just a general warning, she's harmless and delusional so don't worry about her. Just I'm trying the Ignore Her approach so if you see me and see her, feel free to ignore too.
We'll see how that goes.
